Team Aces Parent Information
We at Ace Archers believe that everyone must have a rounded and balanced life.
No one facet of our lives must consume the human being’s existence; sport,
education, religion, art, work and entertainment must be balanced. The parent
must acknowledge that their child’s commitment to Team Aces is a large part of
their life, since archery has already become a large part of your child’s life.
But being a member of Team Aces is a commitment of time, talent, and treasure.
The time the parent and child will spend in archery. The parent’s talent
required to get their child to the team events. The treasure required to
support your child’s interest in archery; whether in program fees, tournament
fees, and archery equipment or travel expenses. Altogether the commitment must
be balanced between the child’s needs, the parent’s needs and the family’s
needs.
Of course, the parent is the ultimate arbitrator for the child’s life. Though
Team Aces offers many opportunities for the youth team member, not all events
are required. Use your best judgment of your family circumstances and remember
Ace Archers is here to support your child in their pursuit of archery
excellence.
-
Parents must agree to support their child’s commitment to the sport of archery
and Team Aces.
-
Team Aces will travel to tournaments in other states. It is advisable that all
team members attend as many of the out of state tournaments as possible. Every
competition helps the archer to learn to deal with tournament pressure and
enhances confidence and overall skill. Carpooling and reduced cost travel
arrangements will be coordinated through the team manager or coaches.
-
The JOAD Team Member must maintain at least a C average in school, or its
equivalent. The parents of the team member must inform the senior Ace Archers
instructor when the team member’s school work does not meet this requirement.
-
The JOAD Team Member must engage in weekly exercise and learn proper nutrition.
This is important to both the current and future health of your offspring. The
old saying “Without your good health you have nothing." is very true and there
is nothing more important than exercise and proper nutrition for good health.
Please feel free to speak with the senior Ace Archers instructor about these
subjects.
-
All JOAD parents are invited to join Team Aces in a support capacity. There are
opportunities as chaperones, drivers, NAA Judges, archery coaches or cheering
section. There are always opportunities to help Team Aces. Ace Archers offers
coach training for minimum cost ($25) to all team member parents to become a
NAA Level II archery instructor.
