Beginner Classes

During the beginner class you are taught the National Training System which includes the KSL Shot Cycle with focus on learning archery and having lots of FUN!

For FUN we shoot “Can You Shoot It?™” every class. We do “Shooting for Stars!™” every class. The emphasis is on learning the basics of the shot while making sure we have lots of fun!

The KSL Shot Cycle is introduced with emphasis on the parallel stance, coiling, angular draw, a good bow hand, a good string hand and a good anchor. These are the basic parts of the KSL Shot Cycle every archer needs to learn.

All youth students start shooting at 9 meters with a Barebow. Once you have achieved your Gray Star, your are allowed to shoot at 18 meters with a sight and long stabilizer. Youth archers always shoot at 60 cm targets.

All adult students start shooting at 9 meters with a Barebow. Once you have achieved your Green Star, you are allowed to shoot at 18 meters with a sight and long stabilizer. Adult archers use a 60 cm target at 18 meters, then a 60 cm target until they earn their Purple Star then they switch to a 40 cm target.

For youth and adult archers, once you achieve your Gray Star, you may advance to the Intermediate Class. The criteria advancing to the intermediate class is listed here.
