Video Coaching

Video Coaching allows you to see exactly how you are shooting your shot. There is no ambiguity, what you see is what you did. The advantage is that you truly see what you are doing and receive comment from a highly qualified coach! Between you and Coach Tom you then build an action plan to change your archery form.

Coach Tom ensures you are ready for the session by having you stretch and do some light exercise, then shoot about 18 arrows. Once you are ready to start filming, Coach Tom then takes seven views of your shot cycle with each view shooting at least six arrows. There is a front view (entire body), anchor view, draw side view (from you draw elbow), back view (entire body), bow hand, bow side view (entire body) and a top view. The film is captured by a mini-DV or a high speed video camera and processed in a lap top and by the Sports Motion software. Coach Tom and the athlete then review the film in a step by step basis. You then make a second appointment to review Coach Tom’s motion analysis of your shot cycle.

After the initial review with the athlete, Coach Tom then performs motion analysis on the film,  and make recommendations on how to improve your shot cycle. A DVD or CD is cut and recommendations are added.

During the second appointment, Coach Tom and the athlete review the motion analysis and discuss the shot cycle recommendations.

Currently the cost for a video coaching session is $100.
