Ace Archers, Inc., 131 Morse St, Foxboro, MA 508-697-5647
During the intermediate class there is more emphasis on the the KSL Shot Cycle including the Open Stance, use of Loading, Under the Chin Anchor, Loading, Transfer into Holding, use of Bow Release coordinated with the String Release, Expansion and Follow Through. We still have lots of fun, but are now working more on archery form so the archers increase their accuracy!
At least once a month we shoot a Qualification Round during “Shooting for Stars!™” . At least once a month we do “Can You Shoot It?™”. You can always choose to shoot for the stars or shoot at strange stuff.
All students are shooting at 18 meters. Olympic Style and Compound archers must shoot with a long stabilizer and a sight. Of course, Barebow archers do not use a sight or stabilizers.
For youth intermediate archers, they can shoot either the 60 cm target face or the 40 cm target face; but once they are shooting for the Olympian ranks they must shoot a 40 cm target face. All adult intermediate archers shoot the 40 cm target face.
For new archers in our class program, Coach Tom Herrington may allow a new member to start immediately into the Intermediate Class providing the archer has good basics; the basics are Parallel Stance, Coiling, Good Angular Draw, Good Bow Hand, Good String Hand, and Good Anchor.
All archers must have attended the First Archery Class.
The biggest difference between the Beginner Class and the Intermediate Class is the emphasis on archery form. During the Intermediate Class the focus is on adding more to your archery form and shooting well.
The Intermediate Archery Class meets on Wednesday, at 6:00 PM, Friday, at 7:00 PM during the mixed Beginner/Intermediate Class and Saturday at 11:00 am during the Intermediate Class. During the Mixed Beginner/Intermediate Class; there will be at least two instructors present; one assigned to the Beginners Class and one assigned to the Intermediate Class.
The next level after the Intermediate Class is our Tournament Class. To advance to the Tournament Class please see these criteria.
