Shooting For Stars!™ is when we shoot a Qualification Round for advancement in the USA Archery JOAD or USA Archery Adult Achievement programs.

A Qualification Round is where we shoot 10 ends with 3 arrows per end. The top score is 300 points. You will shoot either 9 meters or 18 meters.

JOAD (20 years and younger) archers shoot 9 meters until they earn their Gray Star. Adults (21 years and older) shoot 9 meters until they earn their Green Star, then they shoot 18 meters.

Youth archers usually shoot at the 60 cm target, until they are ready for the Olympian Ranks. When shooting for the Olympian Ranks you must shoot at the 40 cm target face.

For adult archers, they shoot at the 60 cm target for the Green and Purple Ranks then start shooting at the 40 cm target face.

Shooting For Stars!™ occurs every month, usually the last weekend of the month. You can always choose to shoot for the stars during any class. Please see our Calendar and Events page for the schedule times.
