Team Aces Responsibilities

As a member of Team Aces, every Member must be:

    1. A member in good standing of USA Archery.
    2. A member in good standing of Ace Archers club.
    3. The Team Aces member must attend at least four sets of classes per year. This responsibility may be waived if the team member is away from the local area due to personal growth or work commitments.
    4. The Team Aces Member must make a minimum one year commitment to Ace Archers club.
    5. Team Members must agree to practice their archery skills enough to maintain their current rank.
      1. This qualification is met by submitting a bi-monthly score card with a score within 10% or exceeding their current rank.
      2. If the team member does not meet the bi-monthly score requirement after four months, then the team member will be put on probation for two months.
      3. Within the two month probation period, the team member must submit a score card with the qualifying score for their current rank.
      4. At then end of the probation period, if a team member has not turned in a qualifying score card, then the team member will be an inactive team member.
      5. An inactive team member losses all Team Aces benefits. An inactive team member can rejoin the team by submitting a score card with a score at least at Red Star fo Olympic Recurve and FITA Compound or Blue Star for Barebow, Traditional Recurve or Longbow.
      6. If an athlete is recovering from an injury or serious illness, then this responsibility is waived until the second month post recovery.
    6. Team Member must engage in weekly exercise.
      1. The exercise program must include stretching, cardiovascular training and strength training.
      2. Ace Archers coaches can help an athlete develop an exercise program.
      3. If an athlete is recovering from an injury or serious illness, then this responsibility is waived until the second month post recovery.
    7. Team Members must shoot in at least four World Archery or USA Archery sanctioned tournaments per year, at least one of which must be an outdoor tournament.
      1. The requirement for shooting an Outdoor Tournament is waived the first year of joining Team Aces.
      2. There are required tournaments every year:
        1. Massachusetts Indoor State and  JOAD Championships, or its equivalent as excepted by the Team Aces Head Coach
        2. Massachusetts Outdoor State and JOAD Championships, or its equivalent as excepted by the Team Aces Head Coach
        3. USA Archery Indoor Nationals for Adult Team Aces Members
        4. USA Archery Indoor JOAD Nationals for Youth Team Aces Members
        5. USA Archery Star Sanctioned Tournaments in their state of residence, normally Massachusetts
    8. Team Members must maintain a team uniform in a clean appearance at all times.
      1. The Team Uniform must project a professional and neat appearance at all times.
      2. Upper garments are the Team Aces Indoor Practice Shirt, Team Aces Indoor Tournament Shirt and Team Aces Outdoor Tournament Shirt.
      3. Upper garments must cover the abdomen at all times, even when lifting the bow or performing warm-ups, exercise, stretching, and etc.
      4. If the Team Shirts do not cover the abdomen, then an under garment must be worn by the Team Member that does cover the abdomen.
      5. The Team Aces Practice Shirt, Team Aces Indoor Tournament Shirt, and Team Aces Outdoor Tournament Shirts are available for purchase from Team Aces.
      6. Lower Garments must follow the USA Archery Dress Code Rules.
      7. The Lower Garments must follow the Team Aces Lower Garments Rules.
        1. “Jeans” or lower garments made of Denim are not allowed, unless you are attending a Field Tournament; Denim is allowed at Field Tournaments.
        2. The Lower Garment Length must be at or below the finger tips when the arms are held in contact with the upper leg.
          1. If the Team Member has a physical disability that prevents the arms from being in contact with the upper leg then the Team Aces Head Coach will advise the Team Aces Member on the correct length of the Lower Garment.
        3. Stretch Pant (yoga pants) must be covered by short pants, a skirt, or skirts that met the Lower Garment Length requirement.
        4. Kilts are allowed.
      8. Closed toe shoes are required both indoor and outdoors.
    9. Team Members must wear their team uniform to all team events, competitions, functions, and practice sessions.
      1. If the Team Aces Coach or Coaches or the Team Aces Manager requires a particular Team Uniform to be worn at an events, competitions, functions, or practice sessions, then the Team Member must wear the required Team Uniform.
    10. The Team Members in Grade School, High School or Post High School education, must maintain at least a C average in school, or its equivalent.
      1. The parents of the Team Member or the Team Member must inform the Ace Archers instructors when the team member’s school work does not meet this requirement.
      2. If the Grade Requirement is not met, the the Team Aces Member is suspended from Team Aces until the Grade Requirement it met.
      3. Once the Grade Requirement is broken, written proof of meeting the Grade Requirement is required from the Team Member or the Parent of the Team Member and then the Team Member is reinstated in full into Team Aces.
    11. Team members will assist Ace Archers coaches, Ace Archers instructors, Team Aces Coaches, and the Team Aces Manager when requested.
    12. Team members must attend all Team Aces events, competitions, functions, and practice sessions and assist with all Team Aces fund raising activities.
      1. If a Team Aces Member does not attend all Team Aces events, competitions, functions, and practice sessions for more than 4 events, competitions, functions, and practice sessions per year then the Team Member will be asked to leave Team Aces.
        1. If you are asked to leave Team Aces due to lack of attendance, there is no recovery from this rule.
      2. Missing a Team Aces events, competitions, functions, and practice sessions requires written documentation by the Adult Athlete or Parent of a Youth Athlete sent to the Team Aces Head Coach as to why the events, competitions, functions, and practice sessions is not attended.
      3. Valid excused absences from Team Aces events, competitions, functions, and practice sessions include the following:
        1. Recovering from Injury or Illness, up to two months post recovery
        2. Current Injury or Illness
        3. Attending a School or Work Function
        4. Attending a Family Vacation or Family Function
      4. If a Team Member does attend Team Aces events, competitions, functions, and practice sessions without an excused absence by the Team Aces Head Coach.
        1. The Team Aces Head Coach will approve or disapprove the Excused Absence upon the Team Aces Head Coach discretion.
    13. In order to be reimbursed for tournament fees, Team Aces Members must do both of the following within 30 days after the tournament:
      1. First the Athlete must pay the entry fee to the event organizer.
      2. The Team Aces must attend the tournament.
      3. The Athlete must present present their completed scorecard to the Team Aces Head Coach after the event.
      4. Certify to the coach that they did indeed shoot the entire event wearing their Team Uniform.
      5. Tournament Fees include only the entry entrance fee into the tournament.
        1. Ancillary costs are not covered by Team Aces; including: housing, food, travel to or from the tournament, travel to or from the tournament venue from local housing, etc.
