2018 Massachusetts State Outdoor and JOAD Results Final Results!

The first day of the 2018 Massachusetts State Outdoor and JOAD Championships was plagued with bad weather. At 10:55 am after the first distance was completed, the weather turned from gray skies, with reasonable winds (4-8 mph) to a torrential downpour, that reduced visibility, with thunder ad lightning. As a result we discontinued the tournament  after completing the first distance and we will resume on Sunday, 8/5/18, with practice at 8:00 am followed by the third and fourth distances.

The second day of the 2018 Massachusetts State Outdoor and JOAD Championships was gorgeous! Clear skies, occasional fluffy clouds, hot with low humidity. There was very little wind. We have a much better time on the second day!

Many archers posted personal best scores. Congratulations!

Many people we using this tournament to get ready for National Target Championships latter in week at Columbus OH. We all wish them good travels and good shooting at National Target Championships!

The 2018 Massachusetts State Outdoor and JOAD Championships,was held at Mansfield’s Memorial Park on the Practice Field on Saturday, 8/4/18, and Sunday, 8/5/18. The tournament was two days long  and all archers were shooting both days. The tournament was a single distance event on both days. The was Open Practice on Friday, 8/3/18, from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm for all registered archers. There was practice from 8:00 am to 8:45 am on both days of the tournament. The tournament started at 9:00 am.

All competitors must belong to USA Archery. NFAA members can get a temporary USA Archery membership for the tournament.

Awards will be presented after the tournament on Sunday, 8/5/2018.

The categories are: Collegiate, Masters 60+, Masters 50+, Senior, Junior, Cadet, Cub and Bowman.

The divisions (bow types) are: FITA Olympic Recurve, FITA Compound, FITA Barebow, Longbow, Traditional Recurve, and Bowhunter. Bowhunter is available to Collegiate archers only.

For FITA Olympic Recurve archers the tournament is two Single Distance Rounds with 72 arrows shot each day. Masters: 60 m, Seniors: 70 m, Juniors – 70 m; Cadets – 60 m; Cubs – 50 m; Bowman – 30 m. Everyone shoots the122 cm target face.

For FITA Barebow, Traditional Recurve and Longbow archers the tournament is two Single Distance Rounds with 72 arrows shot each day. Masters, Seniors, Collegiate, Juniors, Cadets – 50 m; Cubs – 30 m; Bowman – 30 m. Everyone shoots the 122 cm target face.

For FITA Compound archers the tournament is two Single Distance Rounds with 72 arrows shot each day. Masters, Seniors, Juniors, Cadets – 50 m; Cubs – 30 m; Bowman – 30 m. Everyone shoots the 80 cm 6-ring target face.

All ends are shot 6 arrows per end.

FITA Constitution and Rules and USA Archery Dress Code will be strictly observed for all FITA Olympic Recurve, FITA Compound and FITA Barebow divisions. USA Archery Traditional Rules are in effect for Longbow and Traditional Recurve divisions. All Collegiate Bowhunters follows USA Archery Bowhunter Division Rules.

The entry fee is $30.00 for Adults (21 years old and older) and $25.00 for Youths (20 years old and younger).
